Prue Metcalfe Gardens and Design takes into account many factors including the style and era of your home, your internal furnishings, surrounding features and your personality when determining a garden style that will fit best with you and your outdoor space.  Determining the style is ultimately a collaborative process – your input is important and valued.

Our design process begins with an initial consultation with you on site.  Following this we send you a proposal and when accepted you are on your way to having your garden designed.

Every garden design is individual with differing requirements.  It is therefore not possible to give an estimate of how much a design will cost prior to meeting you on site.  The design fee is calculated and sent to you in the form of a proposal following the initial consultation.

Undoubtedly yes.  Incorporating garden lighting can be like having an entirely different garden than the one you have during the day.  Lighting gives ambience, changes focal points, highlights features, offers safety, and plays a very important part in the overall design and construction of your garden

An irrigation system saves you time, is more water efficient than hand watering, and if set to come on regularly.  It is better for the health of your plants and garden, and gives you peace of mind.

Unfortunately there’s no simple answer to this question.  Researching the many materials available is a good start.  Reading garden and landscape magazines, browsing the Internet, attending garden shows, and visiting material manufacturers will help develop your knowledge of the variety of materials on offer.  The expertise of a garden designer will be invaluable in this decision-making process.  Your budget will also play a part in the materials you choose.
